Jaipur needed a fresh coat of paint to welcome its distinguished guest, the Prince of Wales in 1905-06. The Garland Forts

These forts, though built at different periods, are so located that they seem to be stringed together. Jaipur has a timeless appeal in its colorful bazaars that delights for its Rajasthani hand-looms and trinkets. This is one of the few places where the shoppers may actually watch the skilled artisans producing the articles they want to buy.
